I’ve spent the majority of the beginning half of the semester contemplating why this topic is right for me. I am so passionate about San Francisco and how it is an iconic tourist destination, I feel that I must blog about it. I am fifth generation born in San Francisco but unlike the ancestors before me, I was raised outside of the city. At times I feel naive to all that the city has to offer—the amazing array of food, variety of culture, and the iconic tourist attractions. On top of that, I am an Hospitality and Tourism Management major so naturally I plan on using San Francisco’s tourist appeal to my advantage when pursuing a career.
In this blog I plan on exploring both top tourist designations and also historic local know spots. I’ve started a list but it’s very rough
- Pier 39 (how original…)
- Pier 39 (how original…)
- Sutro Baths
- Off the Grid
If you are reading this and have any place you recommend me checking out please comments, I would love suggestions.

Whenever out of the country relatives come and visit we usually hit China town, Japan town, the Golden Gate bridge, Golden Gate park, Lombard street, or even the Exploratorium or SF zoo. I've also always wanted to visit Alcatraz.
ReplyDeleteI've been to Alcatraz one time. It was very interesting to know the history about this little island. There's one thing very attracive. The time I went there was in the early morning, it was so foggy and cold. After 1 or 2 hours, with the lifting of the mist, the view opened up. I could see a very nice view of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.
ReplyDeleteI would recomment to introduce some places or restaurants in San francisco, which are special but different to the tours normally go in your blog.
I like to take people down Lombard all the way up to Coit Tower. On a nice day at the top of Coit Tower is really nice. Another good place to go (on a clear day/night) is Twin Peaks. The walk around the Presidio is neat too, it was one of the first things I did when I came to SF. There's a lot of historic military posts all along the Presidio.
